Flybe, the UK’s largest regional carrier is on the market for over 150 cadet entry and 150 direct entry first officers and captains this year as the Exeter-based airline expands its route network.
Flybe currently has 20 aircraft on order which will join its fleet of over 70 aircraft, currently a mixture of Dash 8 Q400’s and Embraer E-Jets. After a complete restructure two years ago, Flybe has returned to growth with a much stronger balance sheet and solid prospects for the future. Last year growth totaled around 10%, with an expectation for that to double in 2016. Flybe currently has bases in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, Cardiff, Doncaster-Sheffield, and Manchester. The airline operates high-frequency services across 206 routes between 74 UK and European airports.
Flybe boasts a time to command of around 3.5 to 4 years with wide-scale opportunity to progress into management and training roles within the business.
The current training bond is calculated at £18,000 which decreases over a 5 year period.
Flybe has currently appointed CTC to conduct a large part of its selection process whilst interviewing simultaneously at its headquarters in Exeter. The airline currently uses a mixture of the Dash 8 Q400 and the E-Jet to conduct its simulator assessments and conducts a thorough competency-based interview.
