In October I decided to go on a trip with my niece Isabelle, who just had her ninth birthday. What would be a better idea than to celebrate in London and also practice her English a little bit?
We chose London because it is extremely easy to get there, it is safe and friendly, and of course perfect for kids! Since I travel a lot and spend A LOT of time in hotels I am getting more and more picky when it comes to chose the perfect accomodation. I am not a typical luxury traveler, I don’t mind sleeping in a tent every now and then, but for a city weekend like this I prefer a little bit of luxury, and of course I wanted to spoil my niece a little bit….
We flew from Göteborg, Sweden and took the train and Underground to Trafalgar Square when we arrived late Friday evening. After a very short walk we were warmly welcomed to our hotel, Corinthia. The
check in was very friendly and professional and we were shown the hotel facilities. Of course we were a bit tired after the trip and couldn’t wait to see our room! We stayed in an Executive King room which was perfectly prepared for the two of us.
The room was as big as a suite and had a beautiful hallway, a spacious walk in closet to the right and a very big bedroom directly to the left. The hotel had prepared a separate child bed for Isabelle so I could keep the master bed for myself :)I think the best surprise for Isabelle was the delicious chocolate Birthday cake and Birthday candy waiting for her. If you are travelling with kids this is an excellent hotel, well…without kids as well of course!
The breakfast the next morning was amazing. I love fresh fruit and juices in the morning and Isabelle got the most delicious croissants with hot chocolate. The staff treated her like a princess! We went for lunch in the Northall restaurant and we very well taken care of there as well. After a glass of champagne I chose the crab salad, lobster and a lovely chocolate dessert.
Isabelle was more into macaroni and cheese, mini hamburger and milkshake. Absolutely delicious, I would come back here any day!
The hotel has a big luxury spa, ESPA life, and we were informed that during a few hours in the afternoon children are allowed there as well. Good news!
We spent the afternoon playing around in the pool, trying out the saunas and just relaxing. This was the best part of the whole London trip according to Isabelle, next to watching tv in the bathtub.
I can’t wait to come back here next time I visit London! And I would highly recommend Corinthia as a luxury accommodation whatever purpose your trip might have.
